So here I am, a week and a half into my time in Barcelona, and I absolutely love it. The city holds so many surprises. I live in a neighborhood with my host "mom" Cristina who is 40ish, but is pretty much a model/sister type who works all the time so I never see her much, and her mother, Maria Jose, who was the rollerskating champion of Spain back in the day. They´re really patient with my lack of Spanish ability. I´m taking three classes, Grammar, Art, and History, and the professors are all really nice.
Tonight is my 21st, so I guess we´re all going out, I´ll take lots of pictures. I don´t miss Knox at all. I miss a few people, but overall I´m not gonna lie, I wouldn´t care if I never went back there just because I find 80% of the students to be rather self absorbed, uninteresting followers. I´m also glad not to be in the middle of other things. I´ve always been independent and I don´t give a shit about kissing people´s asses. But, to end on a positive note,
SVETLANA AND MELISSA ARE COMING TO VISIT ME SOMETIME IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11BESOS!!!!

Five days till I leave. Have I started packing? Hell no. Am I ready? Hell no. Am I scared/excited. You betcha.

Lots of talk/texting between Mr. X-Factor and I. If only I wasn't always traipsing off around the country because sometimes I feel like I could spend forever with him. He treats me the way I should be treated, not like a plate of leftovers like other guys do. I don't want to be in a relationship now for obvious reasons, but if I'm to come back to Maryland this summer, hopefully, it will be ON.

Last day working at the Hecht's where all the Slim Shadys with their neck tattoos, Rocawear, dollar store bling, affected ghetto talk, 16 year old gfs with strollers in tow, and blank looks come to shop. Last day for being bored out of my mind nine hours a day surrounded by mothers blowing the welfare check and buying skanktastic cologne. No one will admit they work at the Glen Burnie Hecht's. Would you? As Peter always says, someone could be a Nobel prize winning astrophysicist, but they open their mouth and that Baltimore accent comes out, you just think....DUMBASS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dad's out to pick up a four point buck one of his friends shot yesterday. I really miss some of the Knox crew. Christmas was ok, got a digital camera, personal organizer, clothes, money, books. Svetlana sent my family lapty (national shoes) and a "homeboy" doll from Russia. Dad says I've lost 10 lbs since I got home. So why do my clothes feel tighter? Mom, when not working at the hospital, lays around and just watches courtroom shows and eats. She's gained like 60 lbs in the last 10 years. That's why I won't diet. She went on one when she didn't even need to lose any weight, and after that, the pounds just started piling on. But when you suggest a walk, or anything physical, she won't do it.

My dad is still insane. Cuz being a stay at home dad for 10 years now is "cool"...well not cool when nursing is what the family survives on. I mean, Mom makes a shitload of money nursing, but it goes out the door for his beer, cigarettes, little fads, Kevin's tuition. Thank God all my stuff is loans and Hugh has a full ride to college or else. Our house is a shithole. Kent Island has become a suburb of B'more/DC. I wish we could move.

But hey, I mean, look at the adventure. Next week at this time I'll be getting an orientation to Barcelona. So stay on the sunny side.

So yeah...I'm again a screw up because I went for my gut and did something that was four years in coming, I thought I'd gotten control of my feelings but clearly the name of the game is absence makes the heart grow fonder. Oh Spalding.

THIS IS A TRUE STORY
Mattel recently announced the release of Limited-Edition Barbie Dolls for
the D.C. market:

Reston Barbie:

This princess Barbie is sold only at The Reston Town Center in Chico's.
She comes with an assortment of Coach Handbags, a Lexus SUV, a longhaired
foreign dog named Honey, and a "cookie cutter" $2,000,000.00 house.
Available with or without tummy tuck and face lift. Workaholic Ken sold
only in conjunction with "augmented" version.

Springfield Barbie:

This modern day homemaker Barbie is available with Ford Windstar Minivan
and matching gym outfit. She gets lost easily and has no full time
occupation or secondary education. Traffic jamming cell phone sold
separately.

Prince Georges County Barbie:

This recently paroled Barbie comes with a 9mm handgun, a Ray Lewis knife,
a Pontiac with dark tinted windows and a crack pipe. This model is only
available after dark and must be paid for in cash (preferably small,
untraceable bills). Unless you are a cop, then we don't know what you are
talking about.

Great Falls Barbie:

This yuppie Barbie comes with your choice of BMW convertible or Hummer H2.
Included are her own Starbucks cup, credit card and Scioto Country Club
membership. Also available for this set are Shallow Ken and Private School
Skipper. You won't be able to afford any of them.

Fredericksburg Barbie:

This pale model comes dressed in her own Wrangler jeans two sizes too
small, a NASCAR shirt and tweety bird tattoo on her shoulder. She has a
six-pack of Bud light and a Hank Williams, Jr. CD set. She can spit over 5
feet and kick mullet-haired Ken's butt when she is drunk. Purchase her
pickup truck separately and get a Confederate flag bumper sticker
absolutely free.

Herndon Barbie:

This collagen injected, rhinoplastic Barbie wears a leopard print outfit
and drinks cosmopolitans while entertaining friends. Percocet prescription
available.

West Virginia Barbie

This tobacco-chewing, brassy-haired Barbie has a pair of her own
high-heeled sandals with one broken heel from the time she chased
beer-gutted Ken out of another Barbie's house. Her ensemble includes
low-rise acid washed jeans, fake fingernails, and a see through halter-top.
Also available with a mobile home.

Falls Church Barbie:

This doll is made of actual tofu. She has long straight brown hair,
archless feet, hairy armpits, no makeup and Birkenstocks with white socks.
She prefers that you call her "Willow." She does not want or need a Ken
doll, but if you purchase two Falls Church Barbies and the optional Subaru
wagon, you get a rainbow flag bumper sticker for free.

South East D.C.Barbie:

This Barbie now comes with a stroller and infant doll. Optional
accessories include a GED and bus pass. Gangsta Ken and his '79 Caddy were
available, but are now very difficult to find since the addition of the
infant.

Dupont Circle Barbie/Ken:

This versatile doll can be easily converted from Barbie to Ken by simply
adding or subtracting the multiple "snap-on" parts.
